Barbara Van Dam

Hi, I have been selling Real Estate in Brevard County since 1978 specializing in the barrier island ocean to river.  As  Broker I remain a full time Real Estate Agent and manage our two offices.  My son, Eric Van Dam, is our property manager, as we have a full time rental management business in addition to residential and commercial sales.  Although located on the rural barrier island we do business in all of Brevard and Indian River Counties.

Born in Flushing, New York I have lived in the Adirondecks and south Florida and in southern Brevard County for the last 32 years.   My husband Jack and I were married in 1971 and are the proud parents of 3 children and 2 grandchildren.

I keep myself busy on off hours kayaking, reading, hiking and my love of cooking and baking.  Professionally I have served the Melbourne Association of Realtors on The Grievance Committee for 3 years and subsequently chaired this committe, have served on Professional Standards, Realtors for Political Action Committee, and as Secretary, Vice President of Membership, President Elect, and 2007 and 2008 President of the Greater Brevard Women's Council of Realtors. On a State Level  - Credential and Sargeant of Arms for 3 years. I was nominated for the Brevard County Chamber of Commerce WE award in 2008 and I have been elected one of the Melbourne Association Board of Realtor Directors for the term starting in 2009.  My community service included La Leche League Leader for Brevard County, Brownie leader, Den Mother, Gemini Elementary Board of Advisors for 4 years, Sunday School teacher for 3 years, and currently a Eucharist Minister and Minister to the Sick.  I am a member of a bunco group and a book club and write the book reports for The Melbourne Beach Library Newsletter.
